1. Terms & Conditions

1.1. Accommodation in Ashburton Court is offered on a B&B basis to the general public and students of The Ashburton Cookery School. It is subject to the terms and conditions set out below and Ashburton Court has the right to terminate this agreement if these are breached.

2. Booking

2.1. The online reservation system offers a guide to availability of accommodation only and does not constitute a confirmed reservation. Accommodation is only reserved once you have received written confirmation from Ashburton Court and payment has been received.

2.2. If we are unable to contact you within 72 hours of your online reservation request, we will cancel the request and you will need to contact us if you still wish to book accommodation.

3. Check in/out times

3.1. Check-in is between 4pm and 6pm. Arrivals outside of these times should be pre-arranged directly with Ashburton Court.

3.2. Check-out is 10.00am. If you require check in/out times other than stated please advise us in advance and we will try our best to accommodate you and your luggage.

4. Cancellation Policy

4.1. Prior to 21 days of your arrival, if you wish to cancel your accommodation or cookery course booking, there is a £15 administration fee for stays of less than 5 nights and £35 for stays of 5 nights or more, alternatively you may request to rebook your accommodation without charge.

4.2. A request to change your accommodation dates within 21 days of your arrival date is only possible if we are able to resell your booked accommodation or at the discretion of the management.

4.3. No refunds will be made for cancellations within 21 days of your arrival date.

5. Additional Guests & Children

5.1. A guest may have a partner stay with them at the Double/Twin Occupancy rate, subject to availability, this can be booked through Ashburton Court.

5.2 Due to the historical nature of the property we cannot accept bookings including children under the age of 12.

6. Insurance

6.1. Ashburton Court advises all guests to take out adequate travel insurance to cover you in the event that you are unable to attend your course or accommodation.

6.2. Ashburton Court will not accept liability for loss or damage to any personal belongings; all valuables are left at the owner’s risk.

7. Keys

7.1. You will be given your keys to the accommodation and your room on your arrival. Lost keys will be replaced at a charge of £15 per set of keys. Keys must be returned on the morning of your check-out.

7.2. Please ensure that the front door is closed properly behind you, the front door should never be left on the latch.

8. Damage

8.1. Any damage to your room must be reported promptly. We reserve the right to charge you for the cost of rectifying damage caused by your deliberate, negligent or reckless act to the Accommodation’s property or structure. Should this damage come to light after you have departed, we reserve the right to make a charge to your credit/debit card or send an invoice for the amount to your registered address. We will make every effort to rectify any damage internally prior to contracting specialists to make the repairs and therefore will make every effort to keep any costs that you would incur to a minimum.

9. Removal of property

9.1. We reserve the right to charge you for the cost of replacing any items that are removed from the premises by you without consent. The charge will be the full replacement amount of the missing item including any carriage charges. Should the fact that the item is missing come to light after you have departed, we reserve the right to make a charge to your credit or debit card or send an invoice for the amount to your registered address.

10. Inappropriate behaviour

10.1. It is our policy that all our guests have the right to be treated with dignity and respect and as a responsible host we believe that we have a duty to our guests to protect them from inappropriate behaviour. Should any actions by a guest be deemed inappropriate or if any inappropriate behaviour is brought to our attention we reserve the right, after any allegations have been investigated, to take action against the guest. Depending on the severity of the guest’s actions the Police may become involved at our discretion or guests may be asked to leave the Accommodation.

11. Lost / Damaged Property

11.1. If you lose any belongings during your stay or incur damage to your property please report it to Ashburton Court. If we find any lost property, we will make every reasonable effort to locate the owner and return it, but if we cannot locate the owner and an item is not reclaimed with 3 months of the guest’s departure it will be disposed of by us.

12. Wi Fi

12.1. Wi fi is provided within the accommodation.

12.2. You may not violate the security of our Network in any way.

12.3. Such violations may result in criminal or civil liability.

12.4. Ashburton Court may, but is not obligated to, investigate any violation of our Network.

13. Smoking Policy

13.1. In the interests of comfort and the safety of our guests we have a strict non-smoking policy within the grounds of the guest house.

13.2. Any guest found to be smoking inside the building will be asked to leave immediately without a refund.

13.3. Further more a minimum charge of £250 will be applied to the credit/debit card that your room booking was made with.

13.4. We reserve the right to further charge for the cleaning of the room and loss of business for 24 hours after the guest has departed in order to clear the room of smoke before re-letting to a non-smoking guest.

13.5. The use of all drugs and illegal substances is strictly prohibited.

14. Tampering with fire detection systems and fire fighting equipment.

14.1. We reserve the right to take action against any guest found to have tampered / interfered with any fire detection equipment throughout the Accommodation, including detector heads in public areas and bedrooms, break glass points and fire extinguishers.

14.2. Guests found to have tampered with any fire detection or fire fighting equipment will be charged with any costs incurred by us due to their actions and additionally may be asked to leave the Accommodation.

14.3. Depending on the severity of the guest’s actions, the police may become involved at our discretion.

14.4. Should the fact that any fire fighting or detection equipment have been tampered with come to light after the guest has departed we reserve the right to make a charge to the guest’s credit or debit card or send an invoice for the amount to the registered address.

15. General

15.1. Noise should be kept to a minimum after 9pm in consideration of other residents.

15.2. The communal breakfast/orangery area must be kept clean and tidy.

15.3. Electrical plugs are to be removed from sockets and windows closed on leaving the bedroom for the day (this is a fire precaution order).

15.4. There is on street parking near the accommodation. Cars will be left at the owners risk, Ashburton Court cannot accept responsibility for theft or damage to any vehicle.

15.5. No pets shall be permitted in the accommodation.
